Positive effects of Global Warming

Global Warming is defined as the increase of the average temperature on Earth.

Few weeks ago there was an article related to Global warming in Times Of India and according to it over the last 10 years, the average temperature of the air near the Earth´s surface has risen a little less than 1° Celsius (0.74 ± 0.18°C, or 1.3 ± 0.32° Fahrenheit). Does not seem all that much? Few years back Global warming was like a demon that will swallow the ball of earth at any time. But picture is not that scary now a days. Forget World Just remember our own Ahmedabad. Few years back(before introduction of CNG), it was kerosene smells all the time whenever u were on road, burning sensation to our eyes at peak hours, cover of black smoke around us. Ahmedabad had very high rank among most polluted city( in top 10) in those days, but now with the help of government and public awareness we pushed it very down.

I am not saying that we almost killed the demon of Global Warming but at least we certainly delayed its proceeding. As every coin has two sides, Global warming also has two sides. We all know about its negative effects lets point out some Positive effects of it (It might be very few).

Carbon Dioxide Good for Plants
In Global warming we know that amount of CO2 will increase. According to climatologists, the villain causing a warmer world is the unprecedented amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) we humans keep pumping into the atmosphere. But as high school biology students nationwide know, plants absorb carbon dioxide and emit oxygen. Researchers have shown that virtually all plants will do better in a CO2-rich environment than in the current atmosphere. So, can we say that there will be more plant in global warming ???
Increased food production. First, there will be millions, perhaps billions of acres that were previously too cold to grow crops that will now be warm enough. This land will not have the problems that come with centuries of intensive cropping like the more traditional crop-growing areas. Second, in the traditional crop growing areas, the growing season will be longer because it will be warm earlier and stay warm later. A longer growing season means higher yields. And, in some areas, farmers will even be able to plant and harvest two crops in a single year, effectively doubling the yield. Third, yields will be higher. To grow and produce high yields, crops need three things more than anything else: Heat, Carbon Dioxide, and Water. All three of these are increasing under global warming. As a result there will be no shortage of vegetables, no scope for exorbitant price of food items. Hurrey!!!!

Funny side of Global Warming

Here's good news: George W. Bush says that he is committed to fighting global warming. Yeah, well, he nipped that in the bud, didn't he? ... President Bush says he's really going to buckle down now and fight global warming. As a matter of fact, he announced today he's sending 20,000 troops to the sun

"The report on climate change said that humans are very likely making the planet warmer. To which Hillary Clinton said, 'Hey, can't blame me for that one.'"
